Colour Your Garden

Whether you have a small garden, big garden, patio area or balcony, any uninspiring space can be transformed by colour. A bold use of colourful plants can make a real statement in your garden and completely change the way you feel whilst spending time in it.

When deciding the colour scheme for your garden think about how you can set the mood for your garden by using contrasting colours. Purple, yellow and blues create a sophisticated harmony, whilst lighter pastel shades can bring calmness. Reds and oranges bring warmth and glow, whilst shades of pink bring vibrance.

Instant colour can be added in the form of bedding plants. They’re so versatile and can be used in your pots, tubs & baskets, at the front of borders or just to fill a gap. By planting in pots you can move them around your garden or patio area, grouping together colour schemes to create a focal point. The pots themselves can be a hit of colour, don’t just think of terracotta pots, there’s a whole host of glazed pots with interesting colours to compliment the plants you're planting in them.

It's not just the flower colour you can look for, foliage plants such as Heuchera come in a range of colours and will provide your garden with year round interest. When grouped together in a border, they can create a real impact and enhance the colour scheme of your garden.
