We are delighted to announce that Thompson's Welling has been crowned the winner of the prestigious Garden Centre of the Year Award 2026 in the Local Garden Centre category of the Garden Centre Association Awards. This outstanding achievement places us among the very best garden centres in the country, having surpassed strong competition from across the South Thames area to secure this highly sought-after title.

Meet Thompson's Welling's Manager
Paul has worked for Thompson’s for 10 years now and has close to 40 years experience in the gardening industry, with a wide knowledge of all things plants. He first started at Thompson's Petham where he was a plant manager before progressing to our Chislehurst garden centre in the same role. Paul took on the plant area manager role at our Welling garden centre in 2019 before progressing to the general manger role in 2025

We're conveniently located directly opposite Oxleas Wood and right next to Woodlands Farm Trust, making us easy to find whether you're visiting for gardening supplies, compost, plants near welling, a relaxing browse round our plant nursery, or a day out in the local area.
