These characterful little houseplants are perfect for bringing greenery to sunny windowsills, shelves, desks and smaller spaces where a larger houseplant simply won’t fit.
Known for storing water in their fleshy leaves and stems, succulents are well adapted to drier conditions and generally need less frequent watering than many other houseplants. How to care for cacti & succulents
These little plants are generally easy to care for, but a few simple tips will help them thrive:
- Give them plenty of light: Most cacti and succulents love a bright, sunny position.
- Water sparingly: Allow the compost to dry out between waterings.
- Ensure good drainage: Never leave your plants sitting in excess water.
- Water less in winter: Growth slows during the cooler months, so they usually need less water.
- Use suitable compost: A free-draining cactus and succulent compost helps keep roots healthy.
