Plant Supervisor - Chislehurst Garden Centre
Thompsons Garden Centre Chislehurst is seeking an enthusiastic Plant Area Supervisor to support the General Manager in delivering an outstanding customer experience and maintaining high standards in our plant department.
This is a hands-on role for a motivated individual with strong horticultural knowledge, who wants to develop their leadership skills within a family run plant retail environment.
About the Role:
As Plant Area Supervisor, you will support the general Manager in running the department, ensuring plants are well-stocked, presented, and sold efficiently. You will help lead a small team, assist with daily operations, and contribute to a garden centre with a real passion for plants.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the day-to-day running of the Plant Area, including stock management and presentation.
- Support plant ordering, allocations, and stock rotation to minimise waste and maximise sales.
- Help maintain excellent plant quality, availability, and visual standards.
- Coach, motivate, and support colleagues to deliver high standards of customer service.
- Support the management team as required, including supporting wider site operations.
About You:
- Retail or horticultural supervisory experience, ideally in a garden centre or plant environment.
- Strong plant knowledge and a genuine passion for horticulture.
- A visible team player who leads by example.
- A practical knowledge of basic DIY to maintain the department and create inspirational displays.
- Committed to excellent customer service and departmental standards.
