    Peace Lily

Peace Lilies are popular for their lush green foliage and elegant white flowers. They enjoy warm, humid conditions and can be very expressive when they need a drink.

    Where to position

Choose a bright position with indirect light. They can tolerate lower light, although flowering may be reduced.

    Avoid strong direct sunlight.

    Watering

    • Keep the compost evenly moist, but don't leave it waterlogged.
    • Check the compost regularly.
    • Water when the surface begins to dry.
    • Allow excess water to drain away.
    • Don't allow it to repeatedly dry out completely.

    Temperature & humidity

Peace Lilies enjoy warm, humid conditions. Keep away from cold draughts and radiators.

They benefit from additional humidity, particularly during winter.

    Feeding & repotting

Feed every few weeks during spring and summer with a balanced houseplant feed.

Repot when the roots become crowded using a good-quality houseplant compost.

    Common problems

    Drooping leaves
A Peace Lily can wilt dramatically when thirsty. Give it a thorough drink and it should recover if the roots are healthy.

    Yellow leaves
    Often caused by overwatering.

    Brown leaf tips
Can be caused by dry air, inconsistent watering or too much direct sunlight.

    Top tips

    • Watch the leaves: Drooping is often the plant's way of telling you it needs water.
    • Keep humidity up: It appreciates a humid environment.
    • Avoid direct sun: Bright, filtered light is ideal.

    Pet & child safety

Peace Lilies can be harmful if eaten, particularly to cats and dogs. Keep them out of reach.
