Wellie wisdom

For sheer convenience, there's not much that beats pulling on a pair of good old Wellington boots, so make sure yours are the best you can buy. We have a wide range to choose from in our garden centre, so here are a few tips for choosing a pair you'll love to wear.

fitting: wear thick socks while you're trying on your wellies to allow for winter wear. You can choose from ankle-height 'clogs', convenient for short trips outside, three-quarter height wellies for those with shorter calves, and full-height boots.

soles: thicker moulded soles, with multi-directional lugs, help you grip better in slippery conditions. Reinforced soles and steel toecaps give extra protection while digging but are heavy, so thinner, lighter soles may be better for everyday wear.

finishes: for classic style there are plain green, black or brown.

Please ask the staff in our Chislehurst, Newchurch, Canterbury and Welling garden centre for more information and advice about choosing the wellies that are right for you.
