Bright red growths in early spring, with attractive flower buds in winter. Masses of small white bell shaped flowers from march to April.

Evergreen, good in partial shade. Pieris need an acidic soil to grow in so plant with ericaceous compost.

A very long, late flowering period from mid summer through autumn. Hydrangeas produce masses of showy large flower heads in pink white and blue.

Skimmis varieties are tolerant of shady conditions and are good shrubs for seaside gardens or industrial areas.
